RS06 INVENTORY OPTIMISATION
Headline:
Based on customer’s input ROI analyses demand characteristics of the selected finished goods (optionally also material) and corelates it to the actual inventory. Result of this correlation is an initial draft of the inventory levels. Afterwards the current logistics parameterization is reviewed, and adjustments are proposed in a new logistics model.
Description:
Step 1 – Input gathering (standardized MS Excel forms):
- Detailed sales records (deliveries) of the relevant parts for the last 6-12 months (depending on the number of records)
- Actual inventory
- Logistics parameterization from ERP
- In case that material is also in the scope then also Bill of materials for all “live” finished and semi-finished goods
Step 2 – Analysis:
- Data validation and plausibility check
- ABC XYZ analysis
- Days of inventory analysis
- Analysis of the logistics parameterization
Step 3 – Draft of the new logistics model:
- Inventory level targets in terms of days of inventory
- Replenishment strategy determination
- Specification of logistics parameters to be used
Step 4 - Presentation (utilizing MS Teams):
- Analysis’ findings
- Identified potential
- Gaps in the current ERP logistics model
- Draft of the new logistics model
Budget estimate:
Finished goods focus – 2 MDs
Finished goods and material focus – 3 MDs
